The Creator and the Created

Southern Belle Sound Bites are exactly what you need to stay focused. Not on the problem that seems to be inching its way into the edges of your mind and corners of your life. But to stay focused on the one who created you and made you not for this world, but for the world to come.

Do you realize, sweet friend, that Jesus is there ? In the middle of the tears at the red light. In the middle of the anger when your children won’t stop fighting. In the middle of the frustration at the spouse you once knew but no longer do. In the middle of the health battle you just learned you are fighting. Jesus is there. And more than that, dear friend. He’s not mad at you. He’s not angry. He’s not hiding from you. He’s not focusing on all the things you do wrong. He’s not in Heaven with a notebook, marking down that you didn’t pray today. He’s there with you – by design and intent, friend.

Excellence Exists

Through Grace, in this time of transition, He is with you. The world wasn’t created without intent. Neither were we, sisters. Humans change and transition in phases. The world around us changes and transitions in phases and seasons. Our relationships transition. Our walk with the Lord takes us up, down and all around. Without the Spirit guiding us, life can seem like a children’s book. She went up the hill, she went down the street. Aimless. Unguided. Unintentional. But, friend, in the loneliness of your journey, don’t confuse that with being alone. Don’t mistake the trials of this season as the unpurpose filled journey to no where that the world experiences. There is a reason there is a rock in your path and a person in need at your door.

A Happy Truth

The creator of everything knows everything. How you are made. What you were made for. What you are made of. And, we have the opportunity to be one with Him. Think about that today as you sit with your thoughts today. Try to fathom the immenseness of God and the power of love. The power of transition and the beauty of being created for a purpose and intent. We are created for many purposes and intents. IF God is transitioning you, stop and take time to realize what a gift this truly is. To be changed into something useful for this season in God’s eternal story.

You must think I am generous or that I like you a lot

You must think I am not too bright of a light

Yes I say I will pay for your meal and a cot

You ask me for this and that with all your might

Day in and out, almost every single night

Yes, sure I will get you a room and a bite

But, you see, this is not about you and me

This is about someone you and I can not see

I give with a happy heart because He tells me

That this is the path for you and for me

To more clearly see who he is and how love makes right

All the things that are just not so right

He says I will be cursed if I don’t open my purse

He says I must give when you ask with a smirk

I happily comply with the creator of the universe

And thank Him for this chance to recite his verse.

God loves you. He cares where you sit and lie

He won’t make you come and converse

But He will guide you to the table nearby

And be ready with His light to immerse.

Hello Lord!

Reignite my fire for you, Lord, help me to be a light in a dark world, salt in a world full of fakeness and deceit.

Sometimes we do our best and it’s not enough

Sometimes our kids and families hurt us

Sometimes we cry for others yet are numb to ourselves

Sometimes life hurts and memories haunt

But

On my best day I’m a child of God

In my worst day I’m a child of God

I am dead to myself and alive in Christ

I am redeemed and God is my comfort

My strength and my refuge.

When my family hurts, I can depend on God

When my family hurts me, I have a Heavenly Father

When I’m tired and lonely, I have my God

When I disappoint all, even myself

God shines with love and grace.

Sometimes I make bad choices and I cry

Sometimes I make good choices and ache

All the time, I trust in God, not my feelings

All the time, I am not for this world

All the time I must pick Jesus, again and again
