You must think I am generous or that I like you a lot 

You must think I am not too bright of a light 

 Yes I say I will pay for your meal and a cot 

You ask me for this and that with all your might

Day in and out, almost every single night

Yes, sure I will get you a room and a bite 

But, you see, this is not about you and me 

This is about someone you and I can not see 

I give with a happy heart because He tells me 

That this is the path for you and for me 

To more clearly see who he is and how love makes right 

All the things that are just not so right

He says I will be cursed if I don’t open my purse

He says I must give when you ask with a smirk

 I happily comply with the creator of the universe

And thank Him for this chance to recite his verse. 

God loves you. He cares where you sit and lie

He won’t make you come and converse 

But He will guide you to the table nearby 

And be ready with His light to immerse.
